Just a few "pick-me ups"

Well, since I've been rather down lately, (being sick and all) I figured a few "pick-me-ups" wouldn't hurt. These are just some funny quotes I found on the internet.

"If Barbie is so popular then why do you have to buy all her friends?"

"Borrow money from a pessimist, they don't expect it back."

"What are the three words guaranteed to humiliate men everywhere? 'Hold my purse.'"

"A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kickboxing."

Worst excuse for not turning in homework: "I couldn't find anyone to copy from."

"He who laughs last didn't get it."

"Everyone has a photographic memory, some just don't have film."

"Who are you and how did you get in here? Frank: I'm a locksmith...and I'm a locksmith."

"Why is it called 'after dark' when its really 'after light'?"

Just thought those were funny and hopefully at least one of them made you smile today.

Just a Little Inspiration...

I know that as kids, (I like to say young adults) sometimes we get looked down on. We're younger, so we're less experienced; at least that's what they say. While that is very much true there always seems to be one light that breaks through. In this youtube video, a young famous teenager (age 14 at the time) reveals he has diabetes for the first time. Even at this young age he knows just the right words to make you tear up and actually feel something about the subject he is talking about. I hope you take the time to watch it and realize just how inspirational us "kids" can be sometimes. Take a look:

No Ordinary Girl

I may live in an ordinary world, in ordinary circumstances, in ordinary settings, but I, by no means, am an ordinary girl.

You see that at the top of my blog and I think that does describe me and just about any other girl out there. We're all different and beautiful in our own ways. No one can tell us otherwise. The word ordinary has many different definitions. Some of them being: 1.) Of no special quality or interest; commonplace; unexceptional. 2.) plain or undistinguished. 3.) Somewhat inferior or below average; mediocre. 4.) customary; usual; normal.

I don't know about you, but I definitely do not want to be any of those. In spite of the dictionary's definitions, each of us have our own special qualities. I love this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

How painfully true that is. The only way other people can makes us feel inferior, like we're nothing, is when we let them. That happens when we let our guard down, we believe what they say, and let their words get to us. No more, I've decided that. I'm not going to let them make me feel inferior. I'm going to stand up for what I believe in and what is right. Today, I officially am NO ORDINARY GIRL.
